Two kids from Appalachia fell in love and got married in 1973. Within 3 years they had 3 kids and Papa enlisted with the US Army. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were sealed in the Washington DC Temple, and started life in the Army. Over the course of the next 20 years our family lived in Germany and several of the United States.

While Pennsylvania was always home we considered ourselves Americans first and foremost. Through our travels we learned to enjoy the good things about new places. We grew to a family of 8 and when Papa’s tour of Duty was over … Texas became our home. Today our family consists of 6 kids (with 5 spouses) and 22 grand-kids. We are spread across this beautiful country and get together as often as occasion permits.
