Dumplings
1 1/2 C of Flour
1/4 tsp of Salt
3/4 C of Milk
2 tsp of Baking Powder
3 Tbsp of Shortening or Butter
Combine dry ingredients cut in the shortening until the mixture looks like meal. Lightly stir int he milk.
Drop dough by spoonfuls onto hot meat or vegetables in boiling stew. Cook uncovered 10 minutes then cover and cook 10 minutes more or until dumplings are fluffy. DON’T PUT DOWN IN LIQUID it will dissolve.
A good desert in to cook dumplings over a fruit that is boiling in a light syrup or juice.
Bisquick Dumplings
2 Cups Bisquick
2/3 Cup milk
Mix ingredients with fork. Spoon dough onto boiling stew. Cook uncovered over low heat for 10 minutes. Cover and cook additional 10 minutes.
