Grandmother Wriggle’s Waffles

2 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
2 eggs
1 ½ cup milk
6 melted tbsp butter

Sift flour; measure; add baking powder, salt and sugar; sift again.

Beat egg yolks; add milk and butter; pour into flour mixture and stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients. Fold in egg whites which have been beaten until stiff but not dry.

Bake 4 to 5 minutes in waffle iron.
